The Veldt

In 'The Veldt', the Hadley children kill their parents because their parents threathened to shut down their house. Children might have the motivation to kill their parents: abuse, pressure from other family members, desire for gain, or pure hatred. In China, a fourteen- year-old killed his mother, father, and grandmother. It has also been reported that, in a different case, a mother provoked her son into killing his father.
Ray Bradbury also discribed a 'smart' house in The Veldt. Although this was a scientic prediction, smart houses are being developed and presented to qualified consumers. I think that eventually all of America will be presented with the oppurtunity to own a smart home.

I also heard about the 14 year old in China. It goes to show that people can become so easily tricked into thinking something as crazy as murder is the rght thing to do. It is insane to me that people will go as far as killing their parents.
